Competition Day Volunteer Roles

Running a powerlifting competition takes a team. Here are the key roles we need for each event:

Platform Crew

Each flight requires a 5-person platform team:

1 Platform Manager

Coordinates the crew and back-spots squats. Typically filled by someone with prior experience.

4 Spotters & Loaders

Loads plates onto the bar for squats, bench & deadlifts and spots lifters during attempts. No previous experience needed – full training and safety briefing provided on the day.

Table Team

2 Person Table Team

Manages attempt slips, software and record-keeping throughout the day. If you’re new to the role, you’ll be paired with an experienced volunteer.

Commentary Team

2/3 Person Commentary Team

Provides live updates and insights during the competition for livestream viewers.
